Dogen Sangha is a Buddhist group based in Tokyo. We follow the teachings of Master Dogen, a 13th  century Japanese monk, and offer the opportunity to practice Zazen and study Buddhism based on the guidance of our founder Gudo Wafu Nishijima@

We hold meetings on Saturdays at the Young Buddhists Association in Tokyo.

Gudo Nishijima roshi retired from lecturing in 2005. He now devotes his time to his writing, and publishes a blog about Buddhism at http://gudoblog-e.blogspot.com/. He also made a short video demonstration about how to practice zazen.

To celebrate his 90th birthday, Nishijima-roshi gave a talk on November 28, 2009 about his life and zen practice. Dogen Sangha Tokyo presented him with birthday gifts and greetings, and then we had a celebratory dinner of delicious Indian food.
