Zazen Practice and Talk on Buddhism

Our Saturday meetings in Tokyo are held at Tokyo University's Young Buddhists Association in Hongo Sanchome (see below for directions). We practice Zazen sitting meditation and afterwards we have a talk. Questions and discussion are welcome, and anyone interested is welcome to attend. Attendance is free of charge. Beginners are welcome, but come a few minutes early if you need instructions. Wear loose comfortable clothes.

The schedule for the meetings on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays is:

1:00-1:30pm  Zazen

1:30-2:30pm  Lecture

The schedule for the meetings on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays is:

11:00-11:25am  Zazen
11:25-11:35am  Kinhin (slow walking meditation)
11:35-12:00pm  Zazen
12:00-12:30pm  Break (lunch or a rest)
12:30-1:00pm    Zazen
1:00-2:00pm      Lecture (optional)

For the meetings on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, you're welcome to come to both the morning (11 to 12) and afternoon (12.30 to 2.00) session, or to either one.

Map and Directions:

The Young Buddhists Association is located near Hongo Sanchome subway station on the Marunouchi and Oedo subway lines. Both lines run through Shinjuku Station. The stop on both lines is called Hongo-Sanchome.  

Directions: From the Marunouchi line station, turn right after passing through the ticket barrier and follow the alley out to the main street. The building where the meetings are held is across the street. You can cross at the traffic lights on the corner (see map). From the Oedo line station, take exit no. 5 and turn to the left after leaving the station. Follow the main street and then turn left again at the corner with the traffic lights (see map). The entrance to the Young Buddhists Association is next to the Nicos travel agency (just behind the bus stop).
